Psytrance festivals in Brazil 2026/27: dates and guide

Brazil has psytrance events all year, with the busiest stretch in the southern summer from December to March. The biggest festival is Universo Paralello, nine days on a beach in Bahia from 27 December 2026 to 4 January 2027. Most other events are weekend open airs of around two days on farms in São Paulo state, around Rio de Janeiro and in Espírito Santo.

Confirmed so far for 2026/27 (as of October 2026): High Nature in Rio on 12 December 2026, Universo Paralello over New Year and Flor da Vida on 13–14 March 2027. For the others, dates are not announced yet. Below is the full calendar, a short portrait of each festival and practical tips.

Why Brazil's psytrance scene is so big

Psytrance in Brazil grew around a format that suits the country: long parties in the open air, far from the city. A study from the University of São Paulo in 2005 described raves in São Paulo state as open-air events in remote areas lasting more than 14 hours in a row. That format is still the backbone of the scene. Today's weekend open airs often run for 27 to 30 hours.

Universo Paralello played a big part. Its first edition took place in 2000 in the Chapada dos Veadeiros in Goiás. It was co-created by Ekanta Jake and Juarez Petrillo (DJ Swarup), the parents of the DJs Alok and Bhaskar, and today it draws between about 24,000 and more than 30,000 people, depending on the estimate. The brand has also been licensed to events in other countries.

The scene also books big international names close to home. In 2026, Infected Mushroom played Yanomami Festival, and Terratronic's line-up included Captain Hook, Liquid Soul, Skizologic and Sensient. Brazilian artists travel the other way too: Cape Town's Organik crew flew in the Brazilian act Perception as a headliner for its 2026 spring weekend. Bahia and Espírito Santo

Universo Paralello

Held every two years over New Year on Praia de Pratigi in Ituberá, Bahia. The official site bills 2026/27 as the 19th edition. Seven stages cover psytrance including darkpsy, plus techno, house and chillout, with workshops, yoga, a healing area, art and a psycare service on site. The crowd mixes Brazilians and international visitors. One travel guide gives 3 January as the last day, so confirm on the official site.

Ituberá has introduced an environmental fee (TUPI) of R$ 200 for attendees who do not live in the municipality; the organisers have publicly objected to it. Official ticket lots for 2026/27 had not been confirmed by our sources when we checked.

Equilibrium Festival

A long-running fixture in Espírito Santo: about 30 hours over one weekend at Fazenda Camping in the Barra do Jucu area of Vila Velha. Progressive, full-on and darkpsy sit at the core, with techno and house alongside; the 2024 edition had five stages. Entry is 18+ only. Do not confuse it with an unrelated Equilibrium in Belgium.

São Paulo state

Flor da Vida

A fixed date in the Brazilian calendar: two days at Fazenda Meia Lua in Itirapina, with full-on and progressive at the core and goa trance in the mix. The 2027 edition on 13–14 March marks ten years. Older articles, including an earlier version of ours, placed it in Minas Gerais; it takes place in São Paulo state.

Psyfly Festival

Started in 2018, paused in 2024 and 2025, and came back on 14–15 March 2026 with the theme "Terra Prometida". That edition sold out. Since 2026 it takes place at the Centro Hípico de Treinamento in Porto Feliz, with full-on and progressive on the main floor and house and techno on the second stage, Village SunFly. No 2027 date yet.

Baobá Festival

A compact weekend in early May at Luso Brasileiro in São José dos Campos: roughly 27 hours of progressive and full-on over two days, with food and art installations on site. The crowd is mostly local.

Yanomami Festival

A two-day psytrance rave with no fixed rhythm. The latest edition took place on 20–21 June 2026 at Fazenda Meia Lua in Itaqueri da Serra, Itirapina, the same farm as Flor da Vida, with Infected Mushroom on the bill. Past line-ups covered goa, full-on, progressive, darkpsy and hi-tech. Despite the name, it has nothing to do with the Amazon.

Woodstoock & Tríade Trance

A collaboration between the Woodstoock crew and Tríade Trance from Curitiba. Tickets were sold for a 2023 edition, apparently in Lagoinha, but we found no edition since and its status is unconfirmed.

Rio de Janeiro

High Nature Festival

The yearly outdoor festival of the Rio crew High Nature Produções, who also run the club night Afterzinho Psyclub. The 6th edition starts on 12 December 2026 at 20:00 at the sítio Clube Professorado Campestre; despite the name, it is a country property, not a nightclub. Online ticket sales were shown as ended in October 2026.

Spirit Rio

A Rio party brand running since 2012. Its yearly anniversary is the festival-like edition: two days of full-on and progressive in the open air, in recent years in Ilha de Guaratiba. The last anniversary took place on 6–7 September 2025; a one-off party followed on 16 May 2026. No 2026 anniversary has been found and no next date is announced.

Terratronic

Two days of full-on and progressive with strongly international line-ups, held irregularly since at least 2018. After years in Guaratiba it moved to Fazenda Oriri in Silva Jardim, outside the city, for its July 2026 edition. No next dates yet.

Practical tips: season, transport, camping

Season. December to March is summer and the main season, with Universo Paralello, High Nature and Flor da Vida. Autumn brings Equilibrium and Baobá, and June and July (winter) have seen editions of Yanomami and Terratronic. Spirit's anniversary usually falls in late winter.

From São Paulo. For Flor da Vida and Psyfly, the closest major airport is Viracopos (VCP) in Campinas. For Baobá, it is Guarulhos (GRU), and São José dos Campos has a smaller airport of its own. A car gives you the most flexibility. Flor da Vida's organisers offer a shuttle, Psyfly lists shuttle transport, and the excursion operator GoodVibesTour has run buses to Baobá (2024) and Yanomami (2026).

From Rio. Fly into Galeão (GIG). High Nature and Spirit are within the city, but on its rural edges, so sort out transport before the day. Terratronic's new site in Silva Jardim is a proper road trip.

To Universo Paralello. The closest airport is Ilhéus (IOS); from there you continue by road, and a car is recommended. The site is remote, so plan the journey well ahead.

Camping. Camping is included at Universo Paralello, with glamping, car-camping and campervan options. Psyfly has camping on site (in 2026 it cost a one-time R$ 30 on top of the ticket). For Baobá and Equilibrium, our sources do not confirm camping, so check before you plan to stay overnight. A few words of Portuguese help everywhere; these are mostly local crowds.
