Terratronic: psytrance open air in Silva Jardim, Rio de Janeiro
A two-day psytrance open air with strongly international line-ups, held irregularly since at least 2018. After years in Guaratiba it moved to Fazenda Oriri in Silva Jardim (RJ); no next dates are announced.
I've been to Terratronic myself, and for me it's the Rio event that books most like a European festival. The 2026 line-up was dominated by acts from Israel, Switzerland, South Africa, Japan and Australia — Captain Hook, Liquid Soul, Skizologic, Sensient. It runs over two days, open air, but not on a fixed rhythm: editions turn up in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, April 2024 and July 2026, with no 2025 edition found. So it's not a date you can set your calendar by — you watch for it.
Location
Terratronic has moved. From at least 2018 up to the April 2024 edition it was held in Guaratiba, on Rio's rural western edge; the July 2026 edition took place at Fazenda Oriri, a farm (fazenda) in Silva Jardim, Rio de Janeiro state, outside the city. On paper I like the change: a fazenda suits a two-day open air better than the edge of town. Still, check the venue for each new edition on the official Instagram. July is winter in the southern hemisphere.

Music
Full-on and progressive psytrance, with big international names. The 2024 headliners were Phaxe, Blazy and Dickster, with Neelix also on the bill; in 2026 it was Captain Hook, Liquid Soul, Skizologic and Sensient. This is a line-up for people who like their full-on and progressive big and polished — two days of it is plenty, and the music carries you if you let it. A detail for Rio regulars: Captain Hook also headlined Spirit in 2024.
Community
The crowd is mostly local, from Rio and around. What makes Terratronic interesting to me is exactly that combination: a local open air with a line-up you'd otherwise travel abroad for. Attendance, camping and stage counts aren't published in any source I could verify, so ask on the official channels if those details matter to you.
Travel
A car is recommended. Silva Jardim is outside the city of Rio, so this is now a road trip rather than a ride across town — plan the drive there and back, especially after two days of dancing. Flying in, you land at Galeão (GIG) in Rio de Janeiro, the nearest big city. If you went to the Guaratiba editions, don't follow old directions: the venue is different now.

No next edition has been announced, so there's no current ticket sale. In 2026 tickets were sold via a WhatsApp reseller link; prices weren't published anywhere I could verify.
