2. In short

This website itself sets no cookies and uses no tracking, analytics or advertising. Fonts and images are served from our own server. We only process the data technically needed to deliver the pages to you, and the data you send us by email.

3. Hosting and server log files

The website runs on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. When you open a page, the server automatically processes: IP address, date and time, requested page, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, browser and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest unless they are needed longer to investigate a specific security incident. A data processing agreement with Hetzner is in place (Art. 28 GDPR).

4. Cloudflare

To protect against attacks and to speed up loading, traffic passes through the content delivery network of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Cloudflare processes in particular your IP address and technical connection data. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and fast operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses also apply. To fend off automated traffic, Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie (__cf_bm, valid for 30 minutes). More: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

5. Storage in your browser

If you close the language suggestion, your browser remembers this in local storage so the suggestion does not appear again. The entry contains no personal data, is never sent to us and can be deleted at any time in your browser settings.

6. Embedded videos and music

Some articles contain YouTube videos or SoundCloud tracks. They are only loaded when you click on them. Only then is a connection made to the provider (Google Ireland Limited or SoundCloud Global Limited & Co. KG) and your IP address transmitted. The legal basis is your consent given by the click (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

7. Contact by email

When you write to us, we process your message and contact details to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Emails are stored on our own mail server at Hetzner and deleted when no longer needed, unless retention obligations apply.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time. Just write to [email protected].
