Quantum Awakening: psytrance and techno campout in Hammonton, New Jersey

Quantum Awakening is the newest East Coast psytrance festival I could verify: three editions so far, each over Memorial Day weekend, in 2024, 2025 and 2026. It's run by Brooklyn Electric Group and sits within reach of both New York and Philadelphia. Three years in a row isn't much history yet. But a dedicated psytrance stage on the East Coast is rare enough that I'd keep an eye on it.

The festival takes place at Paradise Lake Campground, 500 Paradise Drive, Hammonton, in South Jersey. The organisers describe a lush campsite surrounded by nature, with trails nearby. Tent camping is included in general admission, car and RV camping cost extra, and camp locations need staff approval. RV hook-ups are unlikely, so come self-sufficient.

Four areas, each with its own sound: the Energy Stage for psytrance, the Electric Stage for psychedelic techno with house and underground bass, the Frequency Stage for bass music and the Zen Chill Zone for downtempo. Artists listed on the info page include Burn in Noise, Regan, Quantaloop, Fractal Joke, Khromata, Stereoxide and Kri Samadhi, though the page doesn't say which year that line-up belongs to.

Expect a regional crowd from the New York and Philadelphia area. The organisers mention art installations, chill-out zones and food and drink stalls. The same team lists a second festival at the same campground, Return to Paradise, which had dates in September 2026. Minors can come with a parent: the ticket page sells reduced tickets for ages 13 to 17 and free entry for ages 4 to 12, and everyone signs a waiver at the gate.

Philadelphia (PHL) is the nearest major airport, roughly an hour's drive away; Atlantic City (ACY) is closer but has fewer flights. For 2026 the organisers offered shuttle buses from JFK's AirTrain and from New York City, with details shared 60 days before the event. Car and RV campers must arrive before sunset.

Tickets are sold through Ticket Tailor, linked from the official site. The ticket page listed general admission with tent camping at $220 plus fees in the first tier, with prices rising closer to the date. Car camping is a $50 add-on and RV camping $100. No refunds and no transfers: the festival runs rain or shine. The 2027 dates haven't been announced yet.
