O.Z.O.R.A. Festival: psytrance festival in Ozora, Hungary

O.Z.O.R.A. has been held in the Hungarian countryside since 2004 and is one of Europe's large psytrance gatherings, with attendance put at around 30,000. It runs for twelve days, so many people come for the whole stretch and live on site. Beyond the dance floors, the program gives a lot of room to art installations, workshops, yoga and talks, and the crowd is international, with many returning visitors.

The festival site is at Dádpuszta, by the village of Ozora in Tolna county, Hungary: open-air, rural land among rolling hills. The nearest major city is Budapest, and the nearest airport is Budapest (BUD). The festival falls in high summer, from late July into early August.

The music centres on psytrance, with full-on and progressive at the core. A chill-out area brings in chillout and downtempo as a slower counterpoint to the dance floors. Line-ups change every year; the official website and social channels publish the artists for each edition.

The crowd is international and includes many veterans who return year after year. Most people camp, and with twelve days on site the festival works as a temporary community as much as a music event. Workshops, yoga sessions and talks run alongside the music. Announcements appear on the official Instagram, Facebook and TikTok accounts.

Most international visitors fly into Budapest (BUD) and continue by road. A car is recommended, and the festival also offers a shuttle; check the official website for current routes and times. The site is rural, so plan the journey in advance. Camping is included, and food is available on site.
