New Healing Festival: healing week by a lake in Brandenburg

New Healing is first of all a healing and wellness week: seven days of yoga, meditation, workshops and talks at a lake in the rural Prignitz. Electronic music is part of it, with dance floors mostly at the weekend. The official site lists nine stages. Children are welcome and have their own area, so families are a visible part of the crowd.

The festival takes place in Kümmernitztal (Preddöhl) in the Prignitz, Brandenburg, roughly between Berlin and Hamburg. The site lies at a reservoir lake in the countryside, and swimming is part of the programme. Berlin is the nearest major city. In August, northern Germany is in high summer.

Festival listings describe the music as techno, trance, house and ambient/chill-out; one adds psytrance. We have not checked a line-up, so the share of psytrance is unclear. What is clear: this is not a non-stop dance festival. The electronic floors run mainly at the weekend, and there is a chill-out area for quieter hours.

The audience mixes families, campers and visitors from the region. The programme is built around practice and exchange – yoga, meditation, talks and a healing area – which makes the festival approachable if this is your first event of its kind. Announcements appear on the official Instagram.
