I've been to Indian Spirit myself, so let me be straight: this is one of the big ones. Founded in 1999 and now owned by the listed concert company DEAG, it runs for six days on rural land in Eldena. One report counted about 25,000 guests from 67 countries in 2026; other sources give lower figures. Either way, this is not where you go looking for an underground secret, and I don't think it pretends to be. What you get instead is a professionally run, international festival that works well as a first big psytrance event.

Location

The festival site is in Eldena, a village in rural Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in northern Germany. It's open air, with forest around parts of the grounds, and late August is still summer up there. Camping is included and campervans are an option. I orient myself by Hamburg as the big city nearby, but take the exact address from the official site before you trust your navigation.

Music

Six stages over six days is a lot to cover, and the music does the work if you let it. The core is psytrance — full-on, progressive and goa — with darkpsy, chillout and some techno around it. My tip: the Mushroom Stage is where the harder, more experimental psy lives, alongside the Sun and Moon stages. If full-on is your thing, you'll feel at home here; if you like it darker, you already know where to head.

Community

Guests from many countries and a huge camping crowd: Indian Spirit is built for meeting people. Beyond the dance floors there's a real side programme — yoga, meditation, a healing area, a market, art installations and workshops ranging from breathwork and handpan to didgeridoo and poi/flow arts. Honestly, that's what justifies the six days; if you only dance, you miss half of it. And on Saturday night there's a big fireworks display. Underground it isn't, and I don't mean that as a criticism.

Travel

A car gives you the most flexibility, and for a rural site that's what I'd go with. There is a shuttle service and public transport is an option, but check the current shuttle routes and times on the official site before you rely on them. Flying in, Hamburg is the first airport I'd look at. Getting there is manageable, just not effortless.

Tickets

Tickets are sold through myticket.de, DEAG's exclusive ticket partner, and the presale for 2027 has been open since 1 September 2026. An aggregator lists prices from about €220, but I couldn't verify that on the official site, so treat it as a rough guide and check the current price on myticket.de. For six days with camping included, that feels mid-range to me: not cheap, not outrageous.
